Two Conveniently Located and Warmly Decorated Vacation Homes

Lovingly cared for homes are on Santa Barbara's popular Mesa and nestled in a peaceful neighborhood a mile from downtown Santa Barbara or one of several popular beaches.

Both fully furnished vacation homes boast breathtaking mountain and partial ocean views and can be rented separately or together for a gathering of 2-16.

Homes are uniquely stocked with fine linens, unique and basic kitchen tools and an ample supply of beach and shower towels, extra pillows and cozy throws. We've even thought of the little ones with a pack-n-play crib, high-chair, stroller, toys and more.

March 2012 – a Day in the Life of a Vacation Rental Guest at Casa Cortita

This week’s trip: Santa Barbara Zoo $12 adults, $10 kids, children under 2 free.

Seven of us enjoyed the SB Zoo. We began our Sunday adventure on the beautiful lawn overlooking the ocean. We bought sandwiches and hamburgers at the Zoo café and enjoyed them in the warm sun overlooking the ocean with a sky so clear we could see the Channel Islands. We’ve not rented a vacation home before and loved the binder with the picnic at the Zoo suggestion!

My Mom and Dad (63 and 67), along with our three children (3, 7 and 14) are now cherished Zoo lovers. Our 14 year old claims that’s where she’ll get married (Married!?).

Mom and Dad’s favorite exhibit was the giraffe pen overlooking the ocean. A baby giraffe was born completely unexpected a few months ago so that was a treat to see. We became donors of the baby and are now “feeding” her monthly with our monetary gift. I guess this means we’ll have to come back to our SB vacation rental next year and see how our money is being used.

The kids loved the train and the adorable Meerkats and their antics – silly is the only way to describe those fellows.

The train is a treat if you’re 3 - or 73. The train wanders around the edge of the park giving visitors a unique view from the back along with a good view of the famous Santa Barbara Bird Refuge where countless species call home.

We spent five hours at the zoo. Clearly you could spend all day with all there is to see. Oh? What was my favorite exhibit? The frogs. Ribbit.
